Ministerial Scholarship for Young Scientists Awarded to MA Paula Śwituszak-Żywica

We are proud to announce that Ms. Paula Śwituszak-Żywica, a doctoral student in the discipline of Fine Arts and Art Conservation, has been awarded the Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists.

 

This year’s 20th edition of the competition saw a record-breaking number of 1,711 applications, from which only 228 scholarships were granted. In the discipline represented by Ms. Śwituszak-Żywica, only seven scholarships were awarded – six to researchers holding a doctoral degree, and one to a doctoral student, which was awarded to our doctoral student.

This exceptional distinction confirms the high quality of Paula Śwituszak-Żywica’s research and reflects recognition of her current scientific achievements.

Paula Śwituszak-Żywica conducts research in the field of Fine Arts and Art Conservation. Her doctoral project focuses on the conservation of paintings on metal supports. The research is supervised by Professor Justyna Olszewska-Świetlik and Dr. Andrzej Podgórski. In 2022, she defended her bachelor’s thesis in Chemistry, written under the supervision of Dr. hab. Jacek Nowaczyk, Professor of NCU, from the Department of Physical Chemistry and Physicochemistry of Polymers, Faculty of Chemistry at Nicolaus Copernicus University.                                                                                                                                                                                   Ms. Paula Śwituszak-Żywica has presented her research findings at numerous international conferences and through academic publications, available, among others, at:
